Victorian, circa 1890. 7.8ins high, 5ins wide, 5ins depth.

Palissy Majolica tobacco jar and cover which features a round cottage with detachable lid.

Ochre ground version.

Colouration: brown, green, ochre, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Cover: Good. No restoration.

Some small flakes around the rim and one to the apex of the roof.

KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to tip of cover;

a speck of kiln detritus caught in the glaze.

Jar: Good. No restoration.

Flaking to exterior and rim.

KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to interior.
