Mafra Palissy Majolica Lizard and Toad Plate

Victorian, circa 1890. 7.1ins high, 7.1ins wide, 2.2ins depth.

Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features two lizards and a toad.

Colouration: green, brown, grey, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.

Condition

Generally good. Chips to foot rim.

Small chip to the end of smaller lizard's tail.

Some small flakes to ground and feet.

RESTORATION. Head reglued and join retouched to smaller lizard.

Retouched flakes to larger lizard's tail.
