
Victorian, circa 1890. 9.4ins high, 9.4ins wide, 3.3ins depth. Cunha Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features a snake attacking a lizard, which is retreating into a burrow, moths, a beetle and grubs.
Colouration: green, brown, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Cunha pottery.
CONDITION: Good. Small flake to moth's wing.
Some small flakes to shredded clay ground.
RESTORATION. End section of snake reglued and joins retouched.
