George Jones Majolica Leaves on Napkin Plate

Victorian, circa 1870. 7.9ins high, 7.9ins wide, 0.9ins depth. George Jones Majolica plate which features strawberry leaves laid on a napkin.

Turquoise ground version. Colouration: turquoise, green, ochre, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery.

Bears a pattern number, '2254 3'.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. No restoration.

Tiny flake to under rim.

Flaking to rim

and to one leaf.

Wear to the high points of the molding.

 

KILN EFFECTS: some glaze misses to the front.
