
Victorian, circa 1872. 2.4ins high, 5.6ins wide, 5.6ins depth. Minton Majolica cup & saucer which features lily pads. Light pink ground version. Colouration: pink, green, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. English diamond registration mark for the date 05/04/1872. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1872.
CONDITION: Cup: Good. No restoration. KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to exterior;
stained crazing to interior;
thin glaze application in places.
Saucer: Good. Wear to the high points of the molding.
KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing;
glaze run to the ochre glazes.
RESTORATION. Retouched bruise to rim.
