
Victorian, circa 1872. 2.6ins high, 5.6ins wide, 5.6ins depth. Minton Majolica cup & saucer which features lily pads. Turquoise ground version. Colouration: turquoise, green, pink, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. English diamond registration mark for the date 05/04/1872. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1872.
CONDITION: Cup: Good. KILN EFFECTS: glaze miss to handle;
notable crazing to the interior;
stilt marks with associated glaze chips to the underside.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to rim.
Saucer: Good. No restoration. KILN EFFECTS: tiny glaze pop to interior;
fleck of stray coloured glaze to interior;
notable crazing;
kiln soot caught in the glaze.
