Holdcroft Majolica Blackberry Cheese Dome & Stand

Victorian, circa 1870. 9.6ins high, 10.6ins wide, 10.6ins depth. Holdcroft Majolica cheese keep which features blossoming branches and blackberries.

Colouration: brown, turquoise, green, are predominant.

CONDITION: Cover: Generally good. No restoration.

Some small flakes to blackberries, leaves and blossoms to the sides.

Some wear to base rim (not visible when upright).

KILN EFFECTS: small firing pit to top;

uneven glaze application to handle;

some staining to interior.

Stand: Generally good. No restoration.

Small chip to under rim (not visible from above).

Some small flakes to blackberries and leaves.

Some wear around the rim and to interior.

KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing and staining to interior.
