Mafra Palissy Majolica Fish Jug

Victorian, circa 1890. 8.1ins high, 3.5ins wide, 4.7ins depth.

Mafra Palissy Majolica jug/pitcher which features an open mouthed fish on a seaweed base.

Colouration: grey, brown, green, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.

Condition

Good. Some small flakes to tail fin.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the brown glaze.

RESTORATION. Retouched flake to base and tip of tail.
