Majolica Sunflower Pattern Part Tea Set

Victorian, circa 1880. 6.3ins high, 8.5ins wide, 5.1ins depth.

Majolica tea set which features a teapot, a lidded bowl and a milk jug. Sunflower motifs to the sides.

The teapot and sugar with butterfly finials.

Colouration: yellow, turquoise, brown, are predominant.

 

Condition

Teapot: Good. No restoration. Tiny chip to under rim of cover.

Some small flakes to rim, spout and finial.

KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing.

Sugar: Good. KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the cobalt glazes.

RESTORATION. Filled chips to inner rim and one to outer rim.

Retouched flakes to cover rim.

Creamer: Good. KILN EFFECTS: overglazed chip to rim.

RESTORATION: two filled chips to rim.
