Victorian, circa 1871. 4.7ins high, 9.4ins wide, 8.7ins depth.

George Jones Majolica inkstand which features a terrier dog sat on a tasselled cushion.

Cobalt blue ground version.

Colouration: cobalt blue, white, ochre, are predominant.

English diamond registration mark for the date ??/??/1871.

Condition

Cover: Good. No restoration. Some small flakes to the terrier's fur.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the cobalt blue glaze;

three shrinkage lines to rim.

Base: Good. Some small flakes to tassels.

Slight wear to inner rim.

KILN EFFECTS: minor staining to the ground.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to end of one tassel.

Inkwell: Generally Good. Staining to crazing.

RESTORATION: One pot sections reglued and retouched.
