Minton Majolica Bamboo & Flower Jardiniere & Stand

Victorian, circa 1880. 9.1ins high, 11.9ins wide, 11.9ins depth. Minton Majolica jardinière and stand which features bamboo stems, leaves and flowers. Yellow ground version.

Colouration: yellow, green, white, are predominant.

Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 18??.

 

Condition

CONDITION: Jardiniere: Good. Some small flakes to interior.

Wear to interior.

Some wear to handles.

KILN EFFECTS: slight glaze miss to interior;

slight glaze run to the ochre and green glazes;

shrinkage line to the bottom of the interior;

shrinkage lines to the underside.

RESTORATION: minor retouched flakes to leaves.

Stand: Generally good. Light scratches from use to interior.

KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to interior;

slight glaze miss to the under rim.

RESTORATION: section to rim reglued and join retouched.
