Minton Majolica game pie dish with liner which features a hunting dog asleep next to a gun, a powder flask and a game bag.
Colouration: cream, grey, green, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1861.
Cover: Very good. No restoration. Small flake to dog's right ear.
KILN EFFECTS: Small shrinkage crack to dogs left leg.
Liner: Generally good. KILN EFFECTS: glaze accumulation to rim and under rim;
small areas of crazing.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched cracks to sides and base.
Retouched chips and flakes to rim.
Dish: Very good. No restoration. KILN EFFECTS: Thin patches of glaze application to the interior;
shrinkage line/star crack to exterior on underside (not present to interior of the dish).
