
Victorian, circa 1878. 6ins high, 8.5ins wide, 4.1ins depth. Mintons Majolica teapot which features a monkey clasping a coconut.
Colouration: ochre, cobalt blue, green, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Mintons pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1844'.
Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1878.
CONDITION: Pot: Very good.
KILN EFFECTS: Some slight glaze run.
RESTORATION. Retouched flake to rim.
Cover: Good.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze.
RESTORATION: finial reglued and join retouched;
filled chip to rim at back of monkey's head.
