Minton Majolica Wheat Ears Bread Platter

Victorian, circa 1858. 14.1ins high, 14.1ins wide, 1.6ins depth. Minton Majolica bread platter which features a mottled centre and overlapping wheat ears around the rim. Colouration: green, ochre, brown, are predominant.

Bears a pattern number, '868'. English diamond registration mark for the date ??. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1858.

Condition

Generally good. No restoration. Chip to foot rim.

Some flakes to rim and high points of the molding.

Wear and scratching from use to the interior.

KILN EFFECT: glaze accumulation to underside foot rim.
