
Victorian, circa 1870. 7.1ins high, 7.1ins wide, 6.1ins depth. Minton Majolica serving dish with a mythological theme which features a winged cherub
riding on top of a dolphin, holding a shell on his back.
Colouration: blue, brown, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery.
Bears a pattern number, '1003'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1870.
CONDITION: Generally good.
Tight and stable hairline to one leafy garland.
Small flake to one of dolphin's tail fins.
RESTORATION. Shell has been off the base, reglued and joins retouched around the lower wings and above cherub's head.
Retouched chip and some small flakes to the rim.
