Minton Majolica Sardine Dish and Cover

Victorian, circa 1876. 4.1ins high, 8.7ins wide, 7.5ins depth.

Minton Majolica sardine box which features three fish lying on a bed of seaweed.

Cobalt blue ground version. Colouration: cobalt blue, green, ochre, are predominant.

Bears a pattern number, '1383'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1876.

Condition

Cover: Good. No restoration. Tiny flake to top fish's fin.

Dish: Generally good. Small flake to lower rim.

RESTORATION. Corner section of rim reglued and join retouched.
