Minton Majolica Oyster Plate - Mottled Ground

Victorian, circa 1875. 9.3ins high, 9.1ins wide, 0.8ins depth. Mintons Majolica oyster plate which features six shell shaped wells with seashell surrounds.

Mottled ground version. Colouration: green, brown, cream, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Mintons pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1323'. English diamond registration mark for the date 20/??/????. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1875.

 

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Light wear from use.

RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to rim.
