Pair Minton Majolica blackberry vases

Victorian, circa 1877. Tallest is 7.1ins high, 3.9ins wide, 3.9ins depth.

Pair of Minton Majolica vases which feature blackberry fruits and leaves, unusually modelled hanging through a hole in the side of the vase.

Three bulb effect feet to underside. Colouration: cobalt blue, green, pink, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1877.

Condition

Vase 1: Good. Slight wear to interior, exterior and rim.

KILN EFFECTS: some glaze run.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to rim.

Some minor retouched flakes to rim, berries and leaves.

Vase 2: Good. Slight wear to interior and exterior.

KILN EFFECTS: some glaze run.

RESTORATION. Minor retouched flakes to rim, berries and leaves.

Filled small chips to leaves.

Stabilised and retouched short hairline to rim.
