George Jones Majolica acorn match box & cover

George Jones Majolica match holder which features oak leaves and acorns.

And a rough strip on the underside for striking the matches.

Colouration: ochre, green, lilac, are predominant.

Condition

Cover: Generally good. KILN EFFECTS: a small piece of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the top of the cover;

thin glaze application to the ground in places.

RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairline to the top and rim (still slightly visible).

Small filled chips and flakes to the inner rim.

Box: Fair. RESTORATION. Filled chip to rim and footrim.

End section reglued and join retouched.

Two hairlines to rim stabilised and retouched (one is still slightly visible).
