Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with chipboard backing.
The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches.
Meandering floral border.
Colours greens, cream, pale blue, white, black, browns and pinks.
Verses read,
'Wisdom the Greatest Blefsing from above.
Sent to mankind by God In his Great Love.
Directs the Youth to knowledge. then to Peace.
So leads to solid Joys that never Cease.
Titles may set a Glofs upon our name.
But Virtue only is the Life of Fame.

A wonderful set of motifs, some finely embroidered, including stags roaming on rolling hills,
birds,
flowers,
potted flowering plants,
fruit trees,
fruit baskets,
fir trees,
a crown,
butterflies and insects.
CONDITION: Good.
A few holes.
No stains.
No stitch losses.
Colours are mostly good and strong with no noticeable fading. The silks bright and glossy.
No colour run.
Stretching is very slightly uneven.
Frame in very good condition, ready to hang.
