Pair Staffordshire bearded collies

Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 6.3ins high, 4.7ins wide, 2.6ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a bearded collie in front of a fence, seated on an oblong base.





Bright gilt base line. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration. Some wear to the reverse.



Gilt almost entirely rubbed away.





KILN EFFECTS: fleck of stray coloured glaze to the right ear;



shrinkage crack to the top of right front leg.



Left facing: Generally good. No restoration. Hairline to left front ankle.



Gilt almost entirely rubbed away.





KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the base;



over glazed shrinkage line under the tail;



minor staining in places.
