Staffordshire Cat head tobacco jar & cover

Victorian, circa 1860. 6.4ins high, 4.9ins wide, 6.5ins depth. Staffordshire tobacco jar and cover which features a cat with a pink ribbon around it's neck, stood directly on the ground, no base.



Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Jar: Very good. No restoration.

Flaking around the foot rim.





Some paint losses to the ribbon and above one eye.







Slight wear to nose.



KILN EFFECTS: small firing pit to ribbon;



some finger print touch marks.



Cover: Good. No restoration.

Small, shallow chip to rim at front



and left ear.



Flake to rim at front.



Slight wear to ears.
