pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 7.1ins high, 5.9ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Walton Staffordshire spill vase with a pastoral theme which features a cow with a calf, recumbent on a circular base.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Maker's marks Walton molded ribbon.
Condition
Generally good. No restoration. Tight hairline to tail.
Chips and losses to bocage and horns.
Paint losses to ground, calf, cow and bocage.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the cow's stomach.
