Large Staffordshire Garibaldi on horseback titled figure

Victorian, circa 1860. 14.4ins high, 10.6ins wide, 3.7ins depth. Staffordshire figure with a military theme which features Garibaldi and his horse, stood on a shaped base.



The piece is titled, 'GARIBALDI' .

Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt base line.
Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.





Vent hole to the reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good.

Small flake to tip of garibaldi's nose



and reverse of horse's head.



Very slight rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to the front of his boot and reverse;









shrinkage crack to right hind hoof;





a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze to Garibaldi's right shoulder and hat.





RESTORATION. Head reglued and join retouched.







Remodelled right front leg to horse.



Filled chip to hat.





Retouched glaze miss to Garibaldi's knee.
