Small Staffordshire Jackfield hen on nest tureen

Victorian, circa 1860. 3.7ins high, 3.7ins wide, 3ins depth.

Staffordshire Pottery egg tureen and cover which features a hen on a basket, seated on a basketweave oval base.

Jackfield black version. Dull gilt embellishment.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Condition

Hen: Generally good. No restoration. Small flake to beak and tail.

A few paint losses to comb.

Some rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to rim.

Nest: Generally good. No restoration. Small chip to inner and outer rim.

Wear to rim and exterior.
