Pair Staffordshire Pottery Gorillas

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 4.1ins high, 1.8ins wide, 1.4ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire Pottery figures which feature a gorilla, seated on a circular base.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Figure 1: Very good. No restoration.

KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to the reverse;

a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze to the underside of the base

and the gorilla;

shrinkage line to the gorilla's right hand.

Figure 2: Good. No restoration.

Small flake to the underside of the base.

ILN EFFECTS: touch mark to the underside of the base;

craze lines to the reverse of the base;

shrinkage line to the front of the gorilla.
