Pair Staffordshire Pottery Spaniels - No.6 size

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 5.5ins high, 3.3ins wide, 2.4ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire Pottery figures which feature a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base. Russet and white version.

Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the underside.

Maker's marks no.6 molded into the underside.

 

Condition

CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration. Hairline to dog's back.

Two shallow flakes to the underside of base.

Slight rubbing to gilt.

Left facing: Good. No restoration. Slight rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: faint shrinkage line along the mold join.
