Pair of Staffordshire Pottery dogs which feature a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base.
White and gilt version. Bright gilt embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.
Right facing: Good. No restoration. Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: piece of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to muzzle;
shrinkage lines.
Left facing: Good. No restoration. Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to the muzzle;
over glazed chip to the reverse of right ear;
shrinkage lines.
