Pair Boness Staffordshire tan cats with glass eyes

Victorian, circa 1890. Tallest is 12.6ins high, 7.2ins wide, 7.9ins depth. Pair of Bo'ness Staffordshire Pottery figures which feature a cat with glass eyes,

seated directly on the ground, no base.

Tan version.

Bright gilt embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Vent holes to reverse and underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Right facing: Good.

Some rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: thin glaze application to tip of cat's right ear and reverse of tail;

flecks of stray coloured glaze.

RESTORATION: Retouched paint loss to nose.

Left facing: Good. No restoration.

Small chips to base rim.

Some rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: touch marks to cat's right hind leg;

glaze pops to the base rim;

glaze run to the black enamel;

glaze miss to cat's right ear.
