
Victorian, circa 1870. Tallest is 12.8ins high, 9.4ins wide, 4.1ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire Pottery figures which feature a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base. White and gilt version. Dull gilt collar and locket.
Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.
Right facing: Good. Small flake above right eyebrow.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
Slight wear to tail.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack along to mold join and one to the reverse;
kiln detritus caught in the glaze.
RESTORATION: Retouched black losses to muzzle, right eye and paws.
Left facing: Generally good. Tight hairline to right side of neck.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
Slight wear to tail.
KILN EFFECT: kiln detritus caught in the glaze.
RESTORATION: Retouched paint loss to paws and muzzle.
