Pair of Staffordshire Pottery figures which feature cats, seated on an oval base.
Ochre painted base line. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Vent hole to underside of one.
Right facing: Generally good. Small flake to base front.
KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to side of base;
kiln detritus caught in the glaze to tail;
a few flecks of stray coloured glaze;
shrinkage crack along the base edge to reverse.
RESTORATION: filled chip to lower base edge on the front.
Filled chip to cats right ear;
retouched paint losses to other ear.
Left facing: Fair. Small chip to lower base edge at front.
Small flake to nose and some to upper base at reverse.
KILN EFFECTS: some flecks of stray coloured glaze.
RESTORATION: cat has been off of base, reglued and join retouched;
stabilised and retouched crack to cat's body;
retouched paint losses to ears and muzzle.
