
Victorian, circa 1850. 4ins high, 3.5ins wide, 3.1ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery group which features a dog and her two pups in a basket,
stood directly on the ground, no base.
Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Maker's marks painted to the underside.
CONDITION: Generally good.
Small flake to dog's nose
and one to basket rim.
Slight rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the dog's two front legs
and right hind leg;
shrinkage line along the mold join, to dog's back and chest;
small firing pit to the reverse of basket;
kiln soot caught in the glaze to the dog's head.
RESTORATION: Left basket handle remodelled.
Front pup's left front leg remodelled.
