Pair Staffordshire pottery spaniels with pups on cushion

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 5.7ins high, 4.7ins wide, 3ins depth.

Pair of Staffordshire Pottery groups which feature a spaniel and begging pup, seated on a tasselled cushion base.

Black and white version.

Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

Right facing: Good. A few paint losses to markings, eyes and cushion.

Some rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze to the top of spaniel's head;

notable crazing;

craze line from nose, down ear, onto spaniels back.

RESTORATION. Retouched paint losses to pup's markings and ears and spaniel's chest marking.

Left facing: Good. A few paint losses to markings, eyes and cushion.

Some rubbing to gilt.
