
Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 9.1ins high, 6.7ins wide, 4.3ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base. Black and white version.
Dull gilt collar and locket. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.
CONDITION: Right facing: Generally good. Chip to paw on reverse.
Flake to front right paw.
Some rubbing to gilt.
KILN EFFECTS: small firing pit to chain;
the black glaze has discoloured over time.
RESTORATION: Retouched paint losses to markings.
Left facing: Generally good. No restoration. Flake to left eyebrow.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot to one side of face and to reverse.
RESTORATION: Retouched paint losses to markings.
