
Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 6.3ins high, 9.4ins wide, 4.9ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel, recumbent directly on the ground, no base.
White and gilt version. Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Vent hole to the reverse.
CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration.
Gilt almost entirely rubbed away.
KILN EFFECTS: touch marks to reverse and front left leg;
shrinkage crack along the mold join to spaniel's back,
to top of front left leg,
and the underside.
Left facing: Generally good. No restoration.
Gilt almost entirely rubbed away.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln grit caught in the glaze next to locket;
notable crazing;
shrinkage crack along the mold join to spaniel's back,
and the underside;
kiln detritus caught in the glaze to right ear.
