Staffordshire pottery cottage pastille burner

Victorian, circa 1860. 6.9ins high, 6.7ins wide, 4.2ins depth. Staffordshire pastille burner which features a cottage with trees to either side, stood on a shaped base.



Dull gilt base line and embellishment.



Flatback, decorated mainly to the front.
Opening to the reverse, roof and walls.






Condition

CONDITION: Generally good.

Chips to applied flowers,







shredded clay to chimney at rear,



and lower base edge at rear.



Bruise to lower base edge at side.



Some paint losses to trees.





Rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: some shrinkage cracks to reverse





and lower base edge at front;





notable crazing.







RESTORATION: filled chip to side of base.
