
Victorian, circa 1860. 7.9ins high, 5.3ins wide, 3.9ins depth.
Staffordshire figure which features a spaniel holding a flower basket, seated directly on the ground, no base.
Russet and white version.
Decorated mainly to the front.
Vent hole to the underside.
Generally good. Bruise to reverse base edge.
Small chips and flakes to base edge.
A few paint losses to russet markings.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to top of head and face;
kiln grit caught in the glaze to the reverse;
shrinkage crack to the mold line join between front legs;
touch mark to the reverse of the head;
firing crack to the mold join on the left ear.
RESTORATION. Retouched paint losses to black enamel.
