Pair Staffordshire zebras

Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 5.1ins high, 4.8ins wide, 2.6ins depth.

Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a zebra, stood on a shaped hollow base.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Maker's marks to the underside of one.

Condition

Right facing: Generally good. Flake to side of base.

A few paint losses to the ground.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to right ear.

Front left leg remodelled.

Retouched paint losses to ground and zebra's markings.

Left facing: Generally good. Two tiny chips to shredded clay by tail.

KILN EFFECTS: over glazed chip to underside base edge at reverse.

RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to front, right leg.

Both ears remodelled.

Retouched paint losses to ground and zebra's markings.
