pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 9.1ins high, 3.7ins wide, 3.1ins depth.

Salt Staffordshire Pottery pearlware bocage figure with a religious theme which features St. John, stood on a circular base.

The piece is titled, 'ST. JOHN' .

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Open bottomed. Maker's marks Salt molded ribbon.

Condition

Generally good. One bocage leaf chipped off.

Small nibbles to bocage elsewhere.

Missing flame to torch.

A few paint losses to ground.

RESTORATION: filled chip to end of sash;

filled chips to three bocage leaves. (bocage is 80% original and intact);

retouched chip to one bocage leaf.
