Pair Staffordshire Russet & white spaniels with curly tails

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 12.4ins high, 9.3ins wide, 4.3ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel with a curled tail, seated directly on the ground, no base.



Russet and white version. Dull gilt embellishment.
Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.








Condition

CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration.

A few paint losses to the markings and muzzle.











Slight rubbing to gilt.



KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze to the dog's back;





shrinkage crack to front left leg.



Left facing: Good. No restoration.

A few chips to the underside.



A few paint losses to paws and muzzle.
