Pair Staffordshire Chunky spaniels with free front legs

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 12.2ins high, 9.8ins wide, 5.7ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a 'chunky' spaniel with both front legs modelled free, seated directly on the ground, no base. Russet and white version. Dull gilt embellishment.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

Right facing: Fair. RESTORATION: Tail (which was in pieces) reglued and joins retouched.

Both front legs reglued and joins retouched.

Stabilised and retouched crack to neck.

Retouched paint losses.

Left facing: Generally good. Some rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to right paw and reverse of head.

RESTORATION: Tail (which was in pieces) reglued and joins retouched.

Retouching to markings.
