Pair Staffordshire Pottery Spaniels, No.2 size. Black & White

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 9.8ins high, 6.7ins wide, 4.1ins depth.

Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base.

Black and white version. Dull gilt embellishment.

Flatback, decorated only to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.

Maker's marks no.2 molded into the underside.

Condition

Right facing: Good. No restoration. Rubbing to gilt.

Slight wear to the dog's back.

KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the reverse;

a couple of craze lines to the reverse.

Left facing: Good. No restoration. Some rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: craze lines to the reverse and side.
