Staffordshire egg tureen and cover which features a hen with her eggs, resting on a basketweave oval base.
White and gilt version. Dull gilt embellishment.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Hen: Very good. No restoration.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the left wing and tail feathers.
Nest: Generally good. Some small flakes and chips to flange.
RESTORATION: two stabilised and retouched hairlines to rim.
Two retouched flakes to interior.
