
pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 10.8ins high, 3.4ins wide, 3.4ins depth. Ralph Wood Staffordshire pearlware figure with a mythological theme which features a woman holding a cornucopia of flowers, stood on a square base.
The piece is titled, 'Fortune' .
Painted base line. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the underside.
Maker's marks '169', impressed to reverse of the base.
CONDITION: Generally good. Bruise to lower base edge at reverse.
Flaking to base corner at reverse and pot on her head.
Paint losses to foliage.
Slight wear to the base, her clothing and nose.
KILN EFFECTS: tiny glaze pops to green on sash;
thin glaze application to pink on sash.
RESTORATION. Head reglued and join retouched.
Remodelled hairpiece to front of head.
Thumb and forefinger to left hand reglued and joins retouched.
Retouched to tip of scroll in her left hand.
