Staffordshire Pearlware 'Village Group' figure
pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 8.5ins high, 6.3ins wide, 3.5ins depth.
Staffordshire pearlware bocage group with a pastoral theme which features a lady and gent with musical instruments,
seated on a shaped hollow base.
The piece is titled, ''VILLAGE GROUP'' .
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
Condition
Fair. A few flakes/chips to the bocage.
Small flake to lady's hand.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to the base;
fleck of stray coloured paint to her hat.
RESTORATION: Remodelled bocage and flowers.
Remodelled trumpet and his arms.
Retouched paint losses.
Stabilised and retouched cracks to base on reverse.
