Pair Obadiah Sherratt Staffordshire Pearlware 'Elijah & Widow' figures

pre-Victorian, circa 1830. Tallest is 12.2ins high, 4.7ins wide, 4.7ins depth.

Pair of Obadiah Sherratt Staffordshire pearlware table base figures with a religious theme which feature Elijah and the Widow, seated on a table base.

The pieces are titled, 'Elijah' and 'Widow' to the fronts.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Vent hole to the underside.

This piece represents the Biblical story of Elijah and the Widow of Zarephath.

Condition

Elijah: Generally good. Small flake to his sash around his head and bread in his hand.

RESTORATION. Remodelled wing to one bird.

Elijah's head reglued and join retouched.

Filled chips to base feet.

Filled chips to bocage.

Overall, bocage is 80% original material.

The Widow: Generally good. Small flake to edge of barrel.

RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack through base.

Boy reglued around waist and join retouched.

Bocage tree reglued and join retouched.

Widow right arm reglued and join retouched.

Filled chips to base feet.

Filled chips to bocage, which is in overall good condition with 95% original material.
