George III, dated 1804. 19.75 ins by 7.25ins wide. 1804 Scottish Alphabet sampler. Unframed.

The sampler is worked in fine wool on canvas ground, in cross stitch throughout.

Simple line border.

Divider lines in various patterns.

Colours red and green. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and numbers 1-13.

Family initials.

Dated '1804'.

A scattering of motifs, including lions and hearts.

CONDITION: Good. Three small holes.

Three patchy stains.

Some stitch losses to the border, divider lines and letters.

Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading. No colour run.
