George II, dated 1732. 10.75ins by 7.25ins. 1732 Sampler by Elizabeth Smalley. Framed in an old wood frame with gilt slip and glass.

Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with chipboard backing.

The sampler is worked in wool on canvas ground, in cross stitch throughout.

No border, divider lines in various patterns.

Colours green, red, yellow, pink, blue and orange.

Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case, numbers 1-11, and family initials.

Signed and dated

'ELIZABETH SMALLEY JUNE 30 1732'.

A scattering of motifs, including, crowns.

CONDITION: Generally good.

A few small holes.

Stitch losses to motifs, letters of the alphabets and numbers.

Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading.

No colour run.

Stretching is slightly uneven.

Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
