Small Palissy Majolica snake & frog jug

Victorian, circa 1890. 3.7ins high, 3.7ins wide, 3.1ins depth. Palissy Majolica jug/pitcher which features a snake handle and frog to the side. Colouration: cream, blue, green, are predominant.

Condition

Good. No restoration. Some small flakes to rim.

KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks to snake and frog;

kiln soot caught in the glaze to the exterior;

flecks of stray coloured glaze to the exterior.
