Cunha Majolica Palissy snake & lizard plate

Victorian, circa 1890. 5.7ins high, 5.7ins wide, 2.2ins depth.

Cunha Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features a lizard attacking a snake, moths and a grub.

Colouration: green, grey, ochre, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Cunha pottery.

Bears a pattern number, 'No. 7'.

Condition

Good. Some small flakes to shredded clay.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to one moth wing.
